Johnsons Wellfield donated 3 large blocks of Yorkstone for the creation of three 2 metre figures representing Agriculture, Mining and the Monastic heritage of Pateley Bridge.
The sculpture forms part of the Way of the Roses public art trail, a coast to coast cycle route of 170 miles from Morecambe to Bridlington created by Sustrans. The route is popular with cyclists and tourists. Pateley Bridge, being almost half way along the route, was selected as one of the major sites for a new piece of public art.
The finished sculpture is an amazing sight. If you’d like to see more images of this unique creation or are interested in how the sculptures emerged from initial concept drawings through to completion just visit www.josephhayton.co.uk
