Johnsons Wellfield Natural Riven paving is extracted from our quarry in the Pennine hills above Huddersfield, Crosland Hill is an authentic Hard Yorkstone that holds a worldwide reputation for hardness and durability.
Produced from our split block, Johnsons Wellfield Riven paving has a natural riven face which gives the stone a natural and worn aesthetic. Natural Riven paving also possesses hand-fettled edges which demonstrate the quality of the stone, as sawn-edged riven would be more susceptible to delamination.
The colouring is predominantly light buff however, as it’s the rawest product we produce it’s also the most unpredictable as the colours and tones can vary significantly with blue/grey.
These features make the Natural Riven the perfect product for listed buildings, farms, and older properties.
Natural Riven paving is also the most carbon-efficient and eco-friendly product we offer as we produce most of it by hand tools.
