V&A – John Madejski Garden

When Kim Wilkie Associates were offered the prestigious commission to re-design the new John Madejski Garden in the courtyard of the Victoria & Albert Museum, they specified Crosland Hill Hard Yorkstone as the hard landscaping material.

With this project, the central water feature dictated that low porosity was an important factor in the final stone selection.  Crosland Hill met not only the stringent criteria in terms of technical performance but later provoked the statement from Kim Wilkie himself that in his opinion “Crosland Hill is about the most beautiful yorkstone currently available”. Johnsons Wellfield has operated since 1854 and has supplied its Yorkstone to some of the country’s most prestigious projects. The high compressive strength and renowned durability presents Crosland Hill as a natural choice for many applications where technical specification is equally as important to aesthetic appearance.
